In Inconvient Life

Here’s a topic I generally try to avoid, but I just read something that made me sick and I need to work it out on paper. I am morally opposed to Abortion. And from what I’ve read, I believe Row v. Wade to be bad case law and it should probably be overturned. BUT, I do not think that abortions should be illegal, because that will just push them into the back alley. My position can be described as a passive pro-lifer.

But I just read Jay’s piece over at Wizbang where he reduces the abortion issue to numbers and from the numbers alone, the hypocracy of the left is absurdly obvious.

In 2006 Planned Parenthood performed 289,650 abortions. Two Hundred and Eighty Nine Thousand Six Hundred and Fifty. Allowing for Holidays and weekends that’s roughly 1158 a DAY. Just let those numbers roll around in your head for a few minutes.

Did you see these numbers reported in the new anywhere? I sure you didn’t, but I can guarantee you that even the most news adverse person you know does know another number widely reported by the media last week - 4000. Almost every newspaper across the country featured story last week on the 4000th American causuality in 5 years in Iraq. (My free weekly community paper, which normally sticks to community only news had an article on the front page. I wish I could tell you want it said, but I found the paper while taking the trash to the curb last night and when I saw the article under the fold I added it to the can at the curb.)

It’s taken 5 years for the terrorists in Iraq to kill as many soliders as Planned Parenthood kills babies IN THREE and A HALF DAYS!

Three and a half days.

Hi, I'm Fil, and I'm a Jackass

This is Fil Catania, he's the General Manager at BMW of Lincoln (Nebraska) part of the Husker Automotive group. And he's a jackass.

(Image hotlinked, if they publish his mug it's public, right?)

Long story short, BMW of Lincoln listed a brand new BMW M3 on eBay without a reserve hoping to cash in on the over-the-top demand for the car (MSRP $68,000+, but many dealers were getting $100,000+ for them). Ken Tanisaka of Los Angeles had the winning (and only) bid of $60,000 and the dealer decided that they weren't going to honor the deal.

Ken first posted his story was here, but it’s gone viral. The readers digest condensed versions are here, here and here. (for now – story still developing).

Like most car buyers, we've all experienced something like this in the past. I tried to help my mother buy a car a couple of months ago, only to fall prey to the oldest trick in the book - a bait and switch. Martin Honda (Newark, DE) gave me an incredible price over the phone and later confirmed it in person for a new Accord. Turns out, it was also unbelievable because it was a ‘mistake’. We left furious, but knew there was practically nothing we could do – they’re the big multi-million dollar dealer and you’re Joe Schmoe. Think the newspaper wants your sad tale of woe over the $2000-3000 one of their major revenue streams tried to fox you out of? Yeah, Right. (In fairness, they did pay a $100,000 fine 12 years ago for deceptive practices). And my mother is driving a new Altima now.

So, Fil – and Husker Auto Group – I hope you guys get your asses handed to you. I hope eBay revokes your account, I hope the State of Nebraska fines you a big ole pile, and I hope the court ultimately awards Ken not only his car, but a nice chunk of cash for his hardship, because it looks like it’s coming to that as you assholes can’t figure out when it’s time to take your $6-7000 hit and move on.

Updated: PWN3D!!! (YouTube Video beyond the break)

Final Update: Sale Complete - Ken is getting his car.

Free Business Advice

When your business model requires that your customers come to your website at a specific time to give you money, for crying out loud, HAVE THE FRCIKING HARDWARE/software to handle the load!!!!!

Do you hear me now COMCAST?

I’ve been trying to give you stupid assholes $300 for more than and hour for two measly tickets. So far I have a headache, but no tickets.

Update: Just noticed that there is a $15 per ticket CONVIENCE fee added into the price of the ticket. Obviously, the assholes at Comcast do not know what that word means so I’m kindly including a link.

Final Update: In an effort to preserve the infinitesimal amount of sanity I have left; I’m done. I give up. No Buffett for me. Bastards.
